Activity description:

  • Shake an infant toy in front of your baby to encourage reaching out.
  • Place the toy beside your baby to encourage reaching to the sides.

Skill development:

  • Physical skills: reaching; eye-hand coordination
  • Non-physical skills: creative play; self-discovery

Adjust the challenge:

  • Place the toy farther away to encourage crawling.
