Space requirements: On-the-spot, small space, open space

Activity description:

  • Put on some music and have children free-dance around the space.

Skill development:

  • Physical skills: dancing; patterns; rhythm
  • Non-physical skills; self-discovery; creative play

Adjust the challenge:

  • Start with dancing using only the arms, then add in more body parts.
  • Increase the tempo of the music so the children move faster and increase their heart rates.
